Bowling balls, bunny ears, and a whole lot of joy, that’s how I celebrated A Lesson A Day: A Child’s Way with the kids who inspire it most.
I recently brought together a special group of young readers, families, and supporters for a private event at Levittown Lanes… an afternoon that mixed the thrill of bowling with the warmth of community, all centered around one thing I believe deeply: making kids love to learn.
A Day Built Around Kids — and a Book That Gets Them
The lanes were alive from the moment we arrived. Kids showed up repping their A Lesson A Day tees, ready to roll — literally. From first-timers nervously eyeing the lane to confident little bowlers hoisting orange balls like pros, every child had a moment to shine.

That energy is exactly what A Lesson A Day: A Child’s Way is built on. Learning doesn’t have to mean sitting still. It doesn’t have to be quiet. Sometimes it looks like kids cheering each other on at the foul line, figuring out angles, and celebrating every single pin that falls. That’s a lesson too.
From the Lanes to the Party Table
After bowling, the celebration kept going — and it got festive fast. We moved into an Easter-themed party complete with bunny ears, colorful balloon décor, and a spread that had everyone smiling: pizza, cupcakes, brownies, and Easter baskets stuffed with goodies.

Kids walked away with prizes, plush bunnies, and copies of the book tucked proudly under their arms. Watching a child hug a book the same way they’d hug a stuffed animal? That’s my whole heart right there.
The room was full of laughter, families from all walks of life, and that particular kind of noise that only happens when kids are truly, completely happy.

Why I Do Events Like This
Books change kids. But books paired with experiences — that’s what creates readers for life.
When a child bowls a strike wearing a shirt printed with my book cover, or wins an Easter basket at a party I planned just for them, the book becomes part of a memory. Not just something on a shelf. That’s the heart behind everything I do with A Lesson A Day: A Child’s Way — reaching kids where they are, in ways they’ll never forget.
